European Panorama Photo Contest

Contest Description

Welcome to the European Panorama Project's Panorama Photo Contest!

This is a unique Contest in a special spirit, held by the European Panorama Project (you can read more about the Project here).

This Contest is for photographers, amateurs and professionals alike, who create panoramic images. The only images accepted in this Contest are panoramic images. A panoramic image is defined for the purposes of this contest as a photograph with a height to width ratio of at least 2.5:1 (width is at least 2.5 times the height or the other way around). Both horizontal and vertical panoramas are accepted. The Contest is open to photographers from any country, not only those who live in Europe.

You may win valuable prizes (listed in detail here) offered by the Sponsors of this Contest. There is no entry fee for participating in this Contest. You may submit as many images as you like. When selecting the winning images, the contest judges will not see who submitted the image, only the image itself.

The Contest will be judged by recognized professional photographers, like Mr. John D. McCarthy, President of the International Association of Panoramic Photographers.

By entering the Contest, you are not only entitled to win valuable prizes, but may also have a chance to have your work published by the Project in one or more books, and in one or more exhibitions organized by the Project, or on the web site or other publications of the Project. Any time your images are published, your name as the photographer will be clearly indicated. By submitting an image to the Contest, you agree that the Project Organizers may use it in their publications, but you keep all rights to the original image - even if you win in the Contest, you can use your own image any other way you want to, including selling or publishing it, or submitting it to other contests.

The purpose and spirit of this Contest is that of people from different countries and backgrounds working together to promote communication and understanding between the member states of the European Union. Panoramic images can show our natural or man-made environment in ways never before seen - and we believe that by using this unique art form, we can create interest and affinity for places and countries where one may have never been before.

We appreciate your participation, and wish you the best of luck!
